This is why we teach our self defense classes, even to children. Little 7-year-old Brittany Baxter was at Wal-Mart with her mom, who was doing some grocery shopping. Brittany wandered one aisle over – to go browse the toys – alone.

All of a sudden, you’ll see 25-year-old Thomas A. Woods stalking her and then, within seconds, SECONDS, he swoops into the aisle, GRABS her and starts running for, presumably, an exit or a bathroom where he can do what he wants to do to her.

But Ms. Brittany knew what to do, folks. Instead of just going with the man because he was an adult, she kicked and screamed at him repeatedly and so loud – Woods was forced to let her go and run for the doors.

The good news? This Wal-Mart surveillance tape shows Woods leaving the store, and after the police put out an alert with a description of his car, they arrested him at his home about ten minutes away. Idiot.

In this tape, he claims he was never at Wal-Mart. Yeah…right.

And as Chief Keith Pesnell tells the Associated Press, “This is exactly what we teach the kids to do.” Pesnell says Woods was out on parole after being convicted of voluntary manslaughter in DeKalb County. Now he faces charges of attempted kidnapping, at least.

I ask you – isn’t it time to throw away the keys on this guy?

Note to parents: do not allow your child to browse another part of the store or mall while you shop, right? Wait until they’re old enough. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the video.

Now – are you ready to enroll YOUR child in the “In Control” Workshop yet? Click here.

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THE EZ DEFENSE for WOMEN?
WATCH THIS VIDEO – THEN YOU’LL UNDERSTAND!

One of the programs we teach here at Self-Defense of Knoxville is the EZ Defense for Women programs. This program is unique, because instead of taking months to learn and teaching the student to engage in actually fighting their attacker, the EZ Defense program consists of a 5 (five) hour seminar that teaches you a combination of skills designed to prepare you to defend yourself against different types of attacks.

This is not hand-to-hand combat. It’s not learning how to beat up your attacker.

The EZ Defense program teaches students how to utilize verbal skills to thwart aggression, whether it is from a stranger on the street, a boss or co-worker, or a casual acquaintance. Then it teaches you what to do if your verbal skills aren’t working.

Eighty percent of the five hour seminar is spent learning the verbal skills, while the other 20% is spent learning what to do if the verbal skills are not enough.

We also teach Evade the Blade Knife Survival Course for men and women, and the In Control Workshop for children. Find out more about our programs here: Program Descriptions.

If you’re interested in Registering for any of these Seminars, please call us to learn more: 865.310.3317, Go here, or check out the Registration Page by clicking on the “Sign Up Now” image to sign up!
